Q: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother’s Day, in celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
It will be Mother's day here, too. :)
You know, I can't think of many moms that really stood out in books for me. I have noticed that usually fathers are more 'present' and 'influential' to daughters in books than mothers. That's too bad...I do remember one book that made me LOL about mom and daughter relationship, though. It was Hex Hall.
Here's one of my favorite quotes:
“Good luck explaining to God that you used to spank one of his heavenly beings."
Mom gave a startled laugh.
"Sophie!"

That's true about the dads. Usually there are more widowed dads in YA. I wonder why that is.
