#FF - Feature and Follow #25

Q: If you could “unread” a book, which one would it be? Is it because you want to start over and experience it again for the first time? Or because it was THAT bad?

BITCH ALERT

As I am a frequent visitor of used book stores, I sometimes happen upon wonderful jewels.
But I most likely find terrible things. Things I still can't believe got published.
What I mean is: I have read a lot of bad books. A LOT.
So I 'll just name a few.
(I should have known the minute I saw most of these covers, but still I tried... so it was my fault)

The Sherbrooke Bride (Brides, #1)The Hellion Bride (Brides, #2)Captive of My DesiresMan of My Dreams (Sherring Cross, #1)Hadiah Untuk Dodie (The Bridesmaid's Reward)Big GirlHalflings (Halflings, #1)Beloved RivalsA Courtesan's Scandal (The Scandalous Series, #3)Deadly Little Secret (Touch, #1)

These are here because I coudn't keep going after the first few 5 or 10 pages. Most likely because I thought the writing was THAT bad/boring, the heroine was THAT bland/stupid, the plot was almost NONEXISTANT/UNBELIEVABLE or it sounded like a very bad fanfic.

But this just proves again how we all have very different opinions, right? Tons of people enjoyed these books. (and most of them will probably crucify me for listing Steel here, along with Halflings and Deadly Little Secret, which, to me, is a version of Twilight I hated even more than I did the original. -Please note that even Twilight didn't make this list.-).

Fans, I beg of you. Don't kill me/hate me. Just tell me, what was your answer?

And if you still want to follow me, please feel free to do it through GFC or Networked Blogs.

  1. I haven't read any of those and none of them look like they'd appeal to me. It's a shame when books turn out to be a waste of time!

I hated pet cemetery, but only because it creeped me out and I destroyd the book.and I hate cats now.(they are evil).
But we learn even from bad books and it gives you something to complain about. *don't kill me/hate me cuz i don't like cats

  6. I couldn't finish Halflings either. It made my brain hurt with the badness. And Twilight? Yep, that's my pick.

  7. I haven't read any of these, but none are on my TBR list, I think. I just wish I could unread all of the mediocre books I've read too- not just the really bad ones. I think that more books fall into the mediocre category than the bad category and mediocre books are such a huge time waste. You don't have any feeling either way- they can't even inspire you into hating them.

I'm following you through GFC. My blog is at: http://365-books-a-year.blogspot.com/

  8. Oh, and thanks for turning off Captcha. I did it for Armchair BEA and haven't gotten any spam comments. If anyone has captcha- please consider turning it off at least for the first few days of the blog hop. It really gets under your skin during a blog hop.

  11. I see Catherine Coulter has two covers on that list, haha. I have not read any of the above but from the looks of the covers, I feel like I wouldn't give most of them a second thought either =/ and if the writing was THAT bad and the character THAT stupid, I don't blame you for wanting to unread them, ha.
thanks for hopping through! here to return the follow!

  12. New Follower. I've never heard of any of those books. But I commend you for trying the same author twice. If I didn't like a book I picked up I will likely not try them again.

  16. Sometimes you see a cover and you think: this could either be absolutely terrible or surprisingly good! And it's such a shame if it's the first! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

  17. Haha I actually have read Deadly Little Secret and didn't think it was that bad--Why? Who knows! Maybe I have a penchant for stalker stories...
But I DO avoid those Harlequin Romances like the plague!

  19. Hi, returning the follow. I do say I am surprised that Halflings is in that list. If you didn't read past 50 pages, then you really missed out. Its one I would give another chance, unless you don't like angel books, anyway, just my 2 cents, lol.
Thanks for following and stopping by, I am now following you back. Oh, and i just put up my very first giveaway, if you want to enter (its a practice run for future big ones, and book tours. Here is the link Giveaway

  20. Don't feel bad, when I used to cruise around the used book stores it happened to me a lot. I usually pick them up by the cover(yes I am a cover junkie) and it's burned me more than a few times.
